The UK's largest drugmaker has introduced a prescription-only treatment to help men over 50, called, which could be combined with other treatments. The drug, known as Viagra Connect, would be available from pharmacies without a prescription.
The drug, which costs around £1 per tablet, could be used by up to 30 per cent of men who would like to try a treatment before they reach the age of 40. It is also called sildenafil, and will be available in pharmacies without a prescription.
It was announced last year that Pfizer Inc. had agreed to buy Cipla, a drug company that makes the blue pill, from which it will be based. It will be sold at a cost of around £1 per tablet, although Cipla will sell its erectile dysfunction drug to rival Viagra, which costs around £2 per tablet.
Mr Smith said: "We're committed to making this drug as accessible as possible to all men, whether they're aged over 40, or over 65, or under 18, to help improve their sexual health and performance. Viagra Connect will make such a difference that the company believes it will be the first treatment for erectile dysfunction for the first time in over 10 years.
"Pfizer will continue to develop and commercialise this treatment and will continue to make improvements to the product's formulation and effectiveness for men with certain medical conditions and other factors that are not available in generic forms, such as those associated with heart disease and diabetes."
Mr Smith said the move would include a "maximum daily dose" of sildenafil, which could be used up to 100 times per day. Cipla also said it would be marketing the drug to help patients with erectile dysfunction take the required doses.

These medications work by enhancing blood flow to the penis, enabling a stronger and longer-lasting erection. However, the efficacy of these medications is not guaranteed and varies depending on individual factors such as metabolism, overall health, and the presence of certain medical conditions. In addition, many men have concerns about the safety of these medications. If you're considering buying levitra online, be sure to read the information provided by the manufacturer in order to be aware of potential side effects. Here are some of the common side effects of levitra:
Vision issues– The increased sensitivity of the vision of the optic nerve to the light may cause a sudden decrease in vision, blurred vision, and other vision-related problems. It's essential to check the patient information leaflet provided by the manufacturer to ensure that this medication is safe for you to use. It's also important to discuss any concerns with your doctor before taking any new medications.
Hearing loss– The ability to hear or sense sounds in the ears or throat. While Levitra may not cause hearing loss, it can also affect the quality of the hearing aid. This can be a concern if the medication is used for a long time or if there are changes in your health or lifestyle. If this happens, inform your doctor immediately.
